Hey all,

I am going to put a permanent fuel tank in a 1962 Glastron GT150. It will connect to a 115 HP outboard Mercury engine. I want to mount it in the bow of the boat. The entire point of installing a fuel tank is to save space in the back of the boat so I can mount the battery, trim unit, and other essentials out of the way of passengers by the bilge pump instead of having a couple of portable fuel tanks in the back of the boat. Also, it damages the carpet by keep the fuel tanks in the back of the boat which makes me unhappy :p.

The tank needs to fit in a space of 48L X 9.75W X 18H. I want to maximize fuel capacity in order to be able to use only the single tank. I haven?t found much so I was wondering if anyone could point me to something specific. I was hoping to keep the tank under $200.

Also, while I am asking, what fuel line diameter do yall? recommend for a 15? run to the outboard?

Thank you!
Stephen

How about the 18 Gal #032618/032718 here.

I would recommend a 3/8" fuel line. Try to minimize the number of fittings on the fuel line, to allow easy flow.

OK I purchased this tank:

"18 Gallon Permanent Boat Fuel Tank, 58"L X 6"W X 14.75"H - Moeller"

I recieved it via UPS today and it looks great. I just have one question about it...

What size threading is the engine fuel feed fitting?

I tried the common 1/4" NPT and it did not fit (Barely). The directions that came with the tank did not specify any size. I dont really want to lug a 5' tank into a Home Depot to find out...

Thanks!

Figured it out!

There was a little tiny metal shaving about the size of 2 grains of sand that didnt cut away completely when they ran the tap in. I cut the little piece out and now a 1/4NPT threads beautifully!

Thank you!
