Re: Can anyone recommend a good book on fibreglass repair???
i bought runabout renovation from amazon.com... it's pretty good. it gives basics from buying a boat, through doing the electrical work. however, it's not too specific about fiberglass work.

i recently ordered the Fiberglass Boat Repair Manual from amazon.com, but it hasn't come in yet... i'll update you when i get it.

Check out the major epoxy manufacturer websites. They have a lot of free how-to info on their sites.

www.westsystem.com
www.systemthree.com
etc.
Re: Can anyone recommend a good book on fibreglass repair???
Joh, I bought a book called "How to find and repair an old fiberglass runabout" (or something like that) at a West Marine store. It was likely under $10, and had everything necessary to strip down the hull to bare fiberglass, replace stringers, frames, foam and floor.
Re: Can anyone recommend a good book on fibreglass repair???
the book i mentioned that i received has some great information in it. it's definitely worth the buy, even if you only get 1-2 awesome tips from it that could save you from damaging something.
Re: Can anyone recommend a good book on fibreglass repair???
I know I have mentioned it before but the $3 book from West Systems helped me a bunch. Even used a lot of the information when I built two wooden boats because many of the principles are common to both wood and fiberglass. Its well worth the money and you can find it at West Marine or on the internet.
