Welcome aboard Benny! Length and hull material are essential to ID'ing her, but also is there a Coast Guard hull plate anywhere on her? They are normally on the transom and at least in my case give a model name and year (the first 2 digits of the serial number, often separated from the rest by a space)

The hull is fiberglass and there is no plate on it. We have been trying to identify it for the past several years. No one has been able to tell us anything more than it is a Starcraft because the registration says so. lol I will need to dig up the paperwork on it for the numbers and length and will post when I get them. Thanks.

If you look the Caravel is an inboard outboard. the windshield and bow are completely different also. Thanks

I go with either the Caravel or Newport. I can't see the bow detail on the Newport well enough. I/O or OB, both models were in both flavors. As far as the length goes, you can't go by old paperwork. A case in point; My '66 Nassau matches the brochure measurements but my state paper work says it only 15' 10" long (actually 16' 2") because the DNR ranger wasn't really concerned whether it was exact on a 45 year old boat when he measured. Take all you own measurements and compare the brochure specs - the only way to tell. And windshields can be changed easily. Those plexi shields become very brittle over the years and break looking cross-eyed at them.

What model Merc is hanging off the back? It looks like the Newport was max 100hp and the Caravel max is 80hp.

Have you compared measurements to the brochures? And not wanting to sound silly, but are you sure it's a Starcraft? A lot of boats in that era are very similar.
