Owing 2 boats. One is a 30 foot luxury cabin cruiser
Other is a 21 ft walk around sea ray
Posting regarding 21 ft sea ray.
Fisherman model, walk around , cuddy , nice fishing boat, styled like a whaler
Mercruiser IO , alpha 1
Owing Sea Ray 15 years . Original engine crapped out.
Having bigger boat seldom used sea ray and really should sell it, but a boat with NG engine is not worth much .
Doing a lot of work on dash, cabin, trailer, I hated too sell for a few bucks, dealing with crazies, on craigslist, Has value especially walk around & older sea ray quality
I have a new appreciation for smaller boat, Both have different advantages but find I hardly fish cause cruiser stinks for fishing.
Fuel use is insane.
Came across a strong 3.7 mercruiser .
Pulled old engine , swap out , back in water, this way I can sell or use
.
Knowing I had a hollow area starboard side, I was using boat many years that way and never effected anything I am aware of.
No cracks .
Upon removal of old engine discovered a soft area over gimbal inside .
Planned on pulling gimbal anyway , for new gasket painting, refreshing , now I am faced with transom work
I know the right way is too bring it down too the glass but I Never worked with fiberglass, farm out most rebuilders asking 1200 up too 3 thousand.
Utube a great resource , DAMN, a lot of work . If I did not have the big boat I would fix but on a good day maybe 6 thousand value. Owing a long time change is good. A newer fishing machine, outboards, small useable cabin .
I generally fish intra coastal here in Fl, or fresh water , seldom going off shore
So My question, Is there anything I can do from inside engine room, SIMPLE as possible Ply over soft ??? crazy, something too beef
up the transom without pulling apart or the hell with it, install everything, and sell the damn thing .
I have been running adds indicating a lot of the grunge work done, Give me a fair price includes engine and all parts you do the work, but nothing
thanks for your insight
