Re: Can I buy assorted marine wire?
In general, Ebay has some good prices on wire. I would not buy end pieces from Ebay, it may be demo'd wire with damages. Only buy whole or partial spools.

I just looked, Del City Wire is all sold out of the 500-ft spools of black, AWG 16 tinned marine wire they had for $6/spool. Their regular price for 1000-ft, AWG 16 is $132.40. 500-ft can be had for $66.70. If you are ok with a slightly larger wire size, overkill but wont hurt anything, you can get AWG 12, 1000-ft spool, black, tinned marine grade wire for $31.40 out of their [Closeouts] section.

If you decide to go for all black wires, Del City has clear shrink tubing that you can use to seal a label onto the wires, and/or colored shrink tubing you can use to color code the wires. At $31.40 to rewire your whole boat, you will have a lot of budget left over for labels, shrink tubing, or even have your boat blessed by seven vestal virgins, tho Im not sure they are still around since the fall of Rome.

Del City also has great regular prices on adhesive lined shrink tubing, marine grade crimp connectors, and the Ancor ratchet double crimp tool can be had for under $30. Everything you need to rewire your boat, right there at Del City Wire, sister company of Ancor marine electric, but at a fraction of Ancors prices.
