My 91 250 Yamaha is throwing a trouble code #4 "trim angle sensor abnormality". Is there a way to bypass the three wire sender until I can haul the boat and replace it?

I need to clear this code to see if there are any other.

Thanks in advance

Don't know of a way to disconnect it without the computer knowing. It actually tells the computer to deactivate the oil pump circuit when tilted and to activate it when down. You could get another switch and just plug it in so it would read in the down position.

Thanks Capt Ken but I'd still like to know how to jump it.

It is not a switch that turns on and off, it has to do with resistance. So you can not just put a jumper in

You might find out what resistance it should be at full down and then install a resister into it, but will have to figure out which wires to put it into

do as he said and plug a new one into the harness it is easier
