can I change a closed exhaust to a thru hull exhaust?

I have a 24 powerplay with a 454. is it worth the transition? what would be a ball park figure to do this?

About two grand.. Your not going to notice much preformance difference except more noise.

One thing to do is add silent choice about $2400. Plus you'll need exhaust tips about $400. If you want to eliminate the thru prop exhaust you have to remove the Y pipe and put a plate over the hole and on a 24 ft boat the motor may have to come out.Are there any noise restrictions where you boat. if so you need mufflers. about $700<br />You could probably find this stuff used for half the price.Are you trying to get more power. Is it a stock motor If so You might gain 2mph with thru hull. And thats being generous. The best thing to do is put a complete hi-perf exhaust system on. very expensive. However they don't do much untill your motor gets near 500 HP I wanted to do this to my boat, but I can't justify the cost.
