Did Johnny make an electric start for a '62 Seahorse 10? Is there a kit # or does anyone know what parts are needed?
Thank you all (in advance),
Patrick

No, there was never an electric start kit for the 10hp. You might be able to cobble something together, but it would likely be more trouble than it's worth.

Those 10hp motors aren't that hard to pull over - unless you have shoulder or arm problems. If the motor is hard starting, adding an electric starter would only be masking the real issue. I've had quite a few 10s over the years that start with about a half tug on the cord. Clean, properly gapped points. Clean, properly set up carb, and good compression will make for an easy starting motor...

They didn't add electric start on the small motors until the 9.9s in 1974...
- Scott

- Scott
