I have a 85 bayliner capri that is through hub exhaust right now but can i convert it to thru hull? I know there is a cutout system for cars but can i adapt that somehow to my boat and switch from either one when i want to? Any ideas? Has anyone done this?

you could probably intstall the "captains choice" or captains call setup. its a cutout so to speak that allows you to pick whether u want thru hull or thru prop at any time. it would probably be pretty expensive though.

In boats, a Thru Hull Exhaust add minimal performance, if any. It does anger your neighbors, however.

I would recommend all those with thru hull exhaust convert ot thru prop, to keep the piece.

We tend to think the louder the boat, the smaller the owners "tool" chest.

some lakes are large enough that it is legal, and acceptable, to use thru-hull exhaust. I too, wish i had it but its not a practical upgrade on my boat. Sure does sound cool though.

thats why i wanted the option to change it with the diverter. I like to keep it down when im close to houses but i do love the sound of a open exhaust engine when im on the open lake.

I agree, that's why canoes don't have thru hull.

People with Real boats do however. :D

That or the only boat a guy could afford had through hull exhaust on it already.

Since I'll mainly be on the Mississippi, I can't imagine I'll anger too many people.
