Can I get a weight estimate?

The trials continue to get this boat I bought from Brooklyn to Pennsylvania in one piece. I acquired a dual axle trailer in decent condition (new tires at least!) from a guy in Maryland and I'm currently working on retrofitting it to fit my boat. (Rebuilding the bunks, repacking bearings, installing lights, and flushing the brakes among other things.)

I plan on completely stripping everything out of this boat that isn't fastened down before I tow it home. With a 5.7 Mercruiser inboard that I'm estimating at about 900# (according to the Merc website, rounding up), can someone give me a rough idea how much this thing weighs? I'd call the marina, but they'd probably charge me a hundred bucks for an "educated guess."

It's from 1973, 26' long, about 11' at its widest, empty gas tanks, no batteries or anything, just a large, empty boat and motor. For lack of any good overall pictures, it's pretty much identical to this (minus furnishings & canopy):

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

NADA usually lists dry weight, not sure if they go back that far though.

26' long, about 11' at its widest,

I'll Guess it to be around 6000/ 7000lbs......

You Do realize that you can NOT just load that thing up,+ head down the road with it don't you,..??..??

Federal Law is that the Maximun Width on a hyway is 8'6"....
And,...
From Brookyn to the NJ stateline you're only allow a Maximun width of 8'......

You'll need Permits,+ probably a chasecar to Safely,+ Legally move it.....

If you can't move it yourself, there's a site online that allows people to bid on transportation of items.

I'd guess around 6-7.5k myself, maybe a little more. I've got a 23' 454 powered "sport boat" - not nearly as much hull or fiberglass, larger motor - it weighs 6200 on a trailer.

I tow it with a 5.4L, 4wd, extended cab F-150, 4 wheel disk. I really should be towing it with a 3/4 ton truck.

What size tires does this trailer have? I'm guesing here but I suspect you need at least a tri-axle trailer for that load.
