Can I get parts??

Hello all,
I recently bought a 1968 Evinrude 55hp Triumph. The motor looks like it has been very well taken care of as there is no visable damage at all to cases and covers. The engine wire harness however is "fried". This Evinrude also has electric trans. My question is, when I dig into this thing, am I going to be able to get parts and are parts for the tranny exspensive! Did I buy a money pit! Any info is greatly appreciated.

if the wiring harness to the lower unit is intact, leave it alone. those solenoids are like hens teeth, when you can find them. try http://www.sea-way.com/ for you harness. you also need a special control.
