My 75 horse Mariner maxes out at 5000 rpms at wot at about 31 mph. My tach doesn't red line until 6000 rpms. The boat is a Bass Tracker Tournament v17. It maxes out the same rather I am by myself or with my wife and 2 kids. Is there something I can do to increase power or is that probably the best it will do?

What year?? The 75 came in a 4 cylinder and 3 cylinder. From the information posted it looks like your running a 17 pitch prop...

5250 is max rpm for that engine. Whatdo you use it for...ski/tubing or straight up fishing? If fishing you can start with making sure engine height and boat set-up is correct.

I mainly use for fishing and sometimes for tubing. I am currently using a hydrofoil bucause it was on the boat when I bought it. But I read that it can reduce top end speed. I also read some posts about Smart Tabs and people seem to like them. What is your opinion?
