my boat is docked in salt water all throughout a season. As the title says the boat is from 1990; almost 21 years old.

I'd like to, if possible, install a flush attachment to the engine.

There is no flush attachment on the engine, there never was. I figured I can just drill a hole in the outer casing to mount the hose connection, that would be the easy part.

what do you think? can I do this or is it not feasible.

I plan on installing a water pressure gauge so if this would interfere with the gauge; the gauge takes priority.

thanks.

Deinately install the water pressure gauge. Look for a threaded pipe plug on the cylinder head. If none, install it in the hose from the top of the block to the base of the block.

I do not know if you can install a flusher, however, at this point in it's life cycle, what benefit do you expect to get?

Well, I thought that if the project is relatively easy and relatively inexpensive, then maybe it might help keep a few more years on the engine?

It's an old engine, but I want it to last until we get rid of the boat in favor of a sail...but that won't happen for a few years.

I figure at it's age anything that helps to prevent rust is a good thing. But, i have no data to support my feeliings.

just keep putting fresh, clean fuel in it, keep the gear oil refreshed, and rebuild the waterpump impeller every few years, and it will last....
