Can I mount another pedastal base in my Explorer?

Hello,

What a sweet place - I just found it, in a most round-a-bout way, today.

Question: I'd like to mount another pedastal base in my 18' Explorer tiller - about mid-line, just in front of the rear live-well,
and rear mini-deck. I know that the gas tank lies under this part of the floor - but I don't know how much clearance there is between
the floor, and the belly tank, that far back.

There's two factory pedastal bases - further towards the bow - I've got the part to match that OEM install - but I thought I'd see if
anyone had insight about what's under the floor there - saving me the time of taking the whole center floor panel out, for a looky-loo.

Thanks!

I have a Pro V tiller, and one rear seat base is right over the gas tank. There is at leat one inch clearence from the bottom of the base to the tank. You could drill a small hole (1/8 in.) and probe around. If your real brave, drill your 3 1/4 in. base hole. Want to barrow my hole drill?

Ha! You sound just like me - I'm always offering to pound nice big holes through my buddie's boats. I appreciate the insight. I need to get on with this project, been putting it off too long... Thanks.
