Can I mount pylon in bass seat hole?

Have 17 ft fish/ski. can I mount some kind of pylon in the rear bass seat hole to pull tube,we always pull 1 person tube. The hole is very sturdy, and the bass seat pole screws into it. It seems to have a solid plate going into the floor but I'm not sure due to not being able to see due to the livewell boxes. The transom mount eye holes used now are too low and cause water spray to blind the tube rider. <br /><br />Any opinions on whether a rear bass seat hole could support a tube pole much appreciated.

Mine has a pylon that I can put on in the rear seat hole, but it also has two other arms that extend to each side in order to provide extra support.

i would be carefull even the hole on are correct craft which is built for a pylon has required some repiars over the years <br /><br />the newer flyhigh one we use now has some really strong cables that go to lifting eye on the bow that is ment to be used with a boat lift <br /><br /><br />tommays

FYI tommays.....both Sanger and Malibu do not recommend using the lifting eye for the extended pylons. They are designed for a striaght upward lift-not one at an angle. Stress cracks in the fiberglass may develop.

Thanks all! I have worried about that problem so long and thought it was a stupid question. Now I have hope it might work. <br />Hate to keep asking but where to get a pole that will fit? thought about getting a machine shop to make one with screw in threads like the seat, that would make secure fit, thanks again.
