I would like to know from all those that have done this before, if it is ok to put an internal gas tank in here or not. I would not be able to install all the foam that I would like to in that area but I can put it in other places hopefully. I have attached a pic for your discussion and suggestions. Thanks to all in advance for your assistance with this.

snakethis69,

a certain amount of foam must be in the boat and located in certain areas in order to comply with boat manufacturing regulations dealing with floating if swamped. That is why I was asking the question if this would be ok. There are other areas I could put some foam but not many. Thanks.

well technically the foam must be in there if you are a boat manufacturer selling boats. There are raging debates on whether to put foam back in after replacing floors and I will not enter into that here, but it's up to you.

ah that is what i thought. Ok yea the foam debate, basically its upto you. If you have gunwales sometimes foam is put there. I wouldnt worry about it honestly i have been in on 3 boat rebuilds and they didnt use foam except some under the gunwales and in the very front.

sure if you can find one to fit. and you can put foam under the gunnels. or leave it out. just when ever you sell it , use 'as is, where is' in the bill of sale.

Bondo, It might be only a 5hp motor. You can run one of those all summer on five gallons.
