Can I run dual 45's on the star chief

I just picked up this starchief but he wanted an extra 6k for the 90hp on her.
In my head save 5k and get my own motor.
In the boat shack I have a 20hp, 2-35's and a 40 plus one more 40 that I am rebuilding over the winter. I love my old johnsons. As a hobby I pick up old motors and rebuild them for resale. Getting my hands on larger motors is pretty hard to come by in these parts.
The little star chief will just be used as a little cruiser so I am wondering if I would benefit from just running the 2-35's or 40's together instead of using the 25 as a kicker and getting another motor.
I have no experience with Star Chiefs, mostly we run fiberglass over wood on our fishing boats, all fiberglass on cruisers and my preference which is aluminum speed boats but even they are rare here.
Any opinion on running the two?

Nice looking Starchief

You can run twins if you want to, or to add redunancy to get back to the dock. Just won't be like having 1 motor of twice the hp. And likely to burn more fuel. Can you find a counter-rotating 45hp motor? Not a deal breaker, but prop steer does get worse if the OBs are both turning the prop the same way.

You'll need twice the throttle/shift cables and a connecting tie bar to steer them both.

Before deciding to head down the twins path, make sure you can get them both to fit, have full range of motion and can both tilt forward hanging on the transom and over the splashwell.

BTW: The Starchief should be rated for upto 120hp, so depending on the weight of the twins, you might get away w/ twin 50s or even 60s.

Dreamt last night the cat wanted a drink so I went in the bathroom and turned on the sink. Well, it wasn't the cat, it was a facecloth covering the overflow and drain. woke up this morning to the wife with the shopvac going and a bowed ceiling and soaked floors in the dining and living room. She hated the new hardwood so she wasn't too bad. She asked what I was thinking and I said there was a cute little female in the bathroom waiting for me to give her a drink so I had to oblige. The little one can come out of the bathroom and dry up the floors she said. We went to work and tonight she asked when I was going to start the repairs. I stupidly said after I get the boat stripped and buy a new motor. Yep, big mistake. As per the wife that little young tail I thought was in the bathroom I better really like cause that's the only tail I will be seeing until the floors are done. Sad to say I am weighing my options but I might have to hold off for a couple of weeks on updating the boat restoration. I hate that cat

You might check with your insurance company. They might cover the cost of the damage.

You also need to make sure that all the area is dry because mold will grow in a heartbeat. Seen it many times behind the drywall, in the insulation, subfloors and under / behind cabinets.

I started to tear it all out but then decided to go out on the bike instead last night. Walls are all wood and now so will the ceiling be so the work isn't too bad. Not worth going through insurance I dont think. I get A.D.D in the summer with the toys. Oldest sons a carpenter so he got voluntold to put it all back together for me for the cost of feeding him. Poor kid gets voluntold to do just about everything around the house. I'll be screwed when he gets his own place and wants to charge me.

No Title

The wife got to name the boat and in return I get the 3k to finish it. I wants new table, Marine BBQ, mini fridge under the seat, new seats plus a couple of 50's to put on the back. New top isn't included but I will try and squeeze it in there. I ordered the new graphics today for the new name. It is now called THE MISTRESS.
