can i swap carbs 1976 jonhnson 135-2- 77-85hp

i think i am having carb trouble i have a 1976 135 johnson at my house i have a good power hear with a v- 4 carbs 85hp i know the bore is smaller but will it hurt to try this...

First, check the bore sizes and see if they're the same. It should be a number ( 1-1/4, 1-5/16) cast in the front of them. If they are the same size bore, then you'll have to deal with the jets (orfices). If they're not the same orfices, you'll have to change 'um.
