Can i swap engine's 70hp force to a 80hp mercury ?

Hi people will a mercury (don't know what year it is) 80 hp fit where a force 1992 70 hp engine was will it fit or is it all different iv not seen both together yet ?

Controls will likely be different. Mounting holes will be the same unless the Merc is real old.

I recon its old because its on a old speed boat but you never know ' Is there a way I can tell when it was made ?
