can i use a evinrude selectric control to run my mercury 650 thunderbolt

I am new to boats I got a boat motor outboard it's a Mercury 650 65 horse from 1969 I am wondering if I can use my Evinrude controller on this motor and if I do how can I wire the tilt and trim

No. The Merc needs a shift cable and a Selectric control uses electrical shifting. You need a compatible remote with a throttle and shift cable. Find one with a TnT switch and that solves the second question.

No, I dont think your 1969 Merc came w Tilt or Trim, it will have to be added from a compatible Merc donor motor. And that donor motor's remote throttle might work w your motor. Off hand, I suspect the T and T will need to be via a seperate switch, not on the controls, esp if the donor motors controls wont adapt to your 1969 Merc. Dont know if they will or wont.
