Can I use a screw gun to raise my stringer trim

Hi guys my trim is stuck almost all the way down. I have the trim motor out and couldn't get her cleaned up enough to work on the bench. My question is; have any of you guys tried sticking a screw gun in there to crank it up? When I stick a screw driver in I can get it to move easily but very slowly and down only. I was thinking of putting a bottle jack under the motor to relieve the weight and maybe it would raise easier. I will have to jack the engine undo mounts on the front of the Selectrim bracket so I can spin it a little in order to get a screw gun in there. Does this sound like a good idea or am I about to screw things up?

In case someone else has this problem I'll let you know how I fixed it. Since my trim motor was rusted up and not salvageable I cut the shaft out of it.Then I stuck it in the place where the motor sits and measured how much needed to be cut off so an inch or so is sticking out. Then I put it in a 90 degree drill motor from Harbor freight and it trimmed up and down fine. I did have to put the shaft in first then put it in the chuck so it would clear the stringer. I tried to get it in with the shaft in the chuck but the angle wouldn't clear. This will work until I have 200 bucks for a new motor.
