can my boat handle the evinrude etec 40hp Wieght?

hey guys i own a 1969 14ft glasspar boat and i am going to repower it from a 1990 15hp johnson outboard and i am interested in the etec preferably the 40hp but iam afraid that the 240lbs is too much for my boat i like the speed that the 40hp gives but the weight? or should i forget the 40hp and go for the 25 or 30hp etec. i want my speed to be between 26-35mph no more no less thanks please respond to this topic
