can my prop cause this

I have a 1980 16ft fiberglass boat with a omc 3.0 140 hp i/o in it at full throttle it only revs to 3200 - 3300 rpms there is alot of wake being kicked up behind it and i can't get it to plane out the prop is a 15 x 17 the engine runs great other than low speed and rpms. if you think it could be the problem what prop do you recomend.

Ayuh,... It sounds like it's Down on Power, or geared too high...

Try a smaller pitched prop to get the rpms up to atleast 4000, at wot...
