very new here so please bear with me- the Evinrude 115 on my 17 ft four winns is supported only by the 4 bolts that go thru mount and the transom(sorry on spelling. does the top of the tilt mount need to rest also on transom to bear some of the weight so all isn't on bolts? there is about 3/4 inch gap there. if I lower motor right on transom then bolt holes wouldn't line up. not sure this is correct motor for this boat..but think it is. The top of the mtg bracket does NOT have to sit hard on the transom ... my Johnson 140 sits about an 1" above the top of the transom (and has for over 15 yrs). Bolts are just fine!
