Re: Can someone define CDM and ADI?
Hey SOB, ADI is Alternator Driven Ignition. Power is supplied to a switchbox, by the Stator. A trigger under the flywheel sends a signal to the Switchbox to dump a pulse of power to a coil, which fires the spark plug. Each spark plug has it's own coil. Switchboxes provide power to two, three or four cylinders, depending on whether the motor is two, three, four or six cylinders.
CDM is Capaciter Discharge Module ignition. In this ign system the switchbox is combined with the coil, one for each cylinder. Other than that component difference, the system functions the same.
