Can Someone Help With Motor Info???

I just picked up a Mercury outboard and have a serial number. I was hoping I could find out what year it is, maybe anything else... The guy I got it from didnt seem to know anything about these motors. The number is OA954923

So I got it running today and its either blowing smoke or steam out of the exhaust. The impeller is prolly shot since it has a weak pee stream. Also when I shift into gear, it doesnt pee at all... Whats this about?

First thing to do isrun a line up the pee tube to make sure it is clear as mud daubers just love to get in there. If that is clear, the best thing to do is drop the LU and see what the impeller looks like.
