can someone post an example of PVC in the bottom of a hull to aid drainage??

I am getting close to where I can finally put the deck in. Will bed in the stingers with PL adhesive tomorrow, weather permitting.

One 11th hour question, however.

People talk about putting a long PVC pipe along the lowest point of the hull, from the bow to the transom, to aid in water drainage away from flotation.

The flotation that I'm putting in is swimming pool water noodles. They are too round to block the flow of water at the bottom of the hull. Do I need the pipe?

Can someone show an example of what the PVC pipe placement should look like if I put one in? What diameter would I need?

Darren.... you are doing a fine job

As long as the water does not get blocked in any compartment it will get right past those noodles.

noodle away! no need for extra drainage other than to make sure that water can find the lowest point in the boat from every point that is higher.

Actually, I wonder what the wisdom in that statement is....if the higher points are fully enclosed, then you would be allowing a point of water entry into the higher points, would you not? Something to ponder....I guess it's all dependent on hull/stringer type....
