I just received this drive shower tonight,http://www.driveshowers.com/ I looks like great quality welds and bends. This drive shower is made of stainless steel and has the stainless color. I would like to paint this black to match my alpha drive. How should i go about painting this?

Use a stainless steal primer, then cover with oil base or epoxy paint.

Been thinking of buying one of those for my B3, just having a hard times justifying 200 for a piece of tubing

I understand about the price.. I cleaned up all the white chalky stuff on my outdrive and got it looking shiny bright black.. I dont want to clean that outdrive like that again!! I am hoping that the drive shower will eliminate the chalky stuff.

It's not going to keep the chalk away. Only way to do that is keep it on the trailer and wipe it down after every removal

I agree it isn't going to do anything for the oxidisation of your outdrive. Now you have another thing to try and keep clean.

I`ve heard from a couple guys over on the Chaparral forum site that these showers do help reduce the hard water staining on their Mercury outdrives, by keeping the gearbox cooler and reducing the evaporative effect of the hard water.

I had the previous model of that shower on an Alpha (previous boat) about 6 years ago. Nice coat of wax on the drive and with the shower, never a hint of mineral scale. This new model, of which I just got and will be going on my new to me boat this weekend, is sweet!! No drilling needed. The previous model you needed to drill two holes in each corner of the anti-ventilation plate. Man, I was just waiting for those two little corners to snap off.
