can u fiberglass in cold?????

is it ok to fiberglass in the cold weather its getting chilly here in canada and im not finished some hull repair, any help??:confused:

from the little fiberglass work i have done on other applications, i would say no unless you use a hair dryer to help cure the resin so it sticks good. if it dont cure and gets hard it wont bond correctly and pull away.

You would need to bring the substrate up to temp first..

Basically if your boat is ice cold and you have a hot batch of resin/glass ready. It will not work too good ( even if you heat gun the repair tops ).

Heat lamp or heat gun the substrate then do repairs..then heat the repair after application.

WARNING !!

If you try to apply a Thermoplasic resin in Inclimate temps you Really should know about substrate and top reps...

Dont try in freezing conditions ... both surfaces should be at the same at least close temps..

I did ok in 45F temps under a tarp with halogens.
