Am swapping out my pump assembly and my manual said to drop the motor down to help drain the system. Well I did that, but now would like to put the motor back up to ease re-attaching new system, but it hardly budges. Is there a trick to lifting it back up? Maybe just need to eat my Wheaties?

Thanks in advance!

You could eat your Wheaties... or

Overtons (I don't know about iBoats), sells a "motor tilter". Looks like the attachment below.

I had those tilters for a 55. I think it will bend with a 125. PLus do you want to buy one to use once? carefully get a floor jack under your motor or carefully hook up a comealong above it. When it's up use supplemental braces besides the little bracket.

Look right under the front of your cowling, between the transom brackets, for a toggle of some sort. When you lowered the motor you probably engaged the lock, if it has one. If you see a toggle or handle, flip it over and see if that disengages your lock. If it doesn't work, sometimes the linkage gets broken or stretched, find the stop bar that's between the lower transom brackets (it usually is a 3/8" or so bar, bent 90 on one end and a T bar of some kind on the other and there's 4 or 5 hole sets it can be adjusted in). Look for a spring loaded dog assy that is latched over the stop bar. You should be able to lift the dog off the bar with a finger and pull the lower unit aft (might need a buddy) far enough to clear the stop bar.
