can you Set the timeing on a 1987 yamaha pro-v 150hp

i have this great boat i got on line . The needed a tune up. I did that and more. Clean the carbs monday, still i do not know how to set the timeing. I have a timeing gun i use for my car. But i have never set the timeing on an outboad motor . My motor is a 1987 yamaha pro-v 150hp is this i can do . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrJY1RxmVI8

only way to properly set the ign timing is with the use of a test wheel or hang off the back while the motor is at WOT and full load.
however if no one has jacked with the timing stop screws, once set it never needs resetting unless the trigger coils get replaced.
