I have recently purchased a 12ft Picton Sprint with a 60hp Johnson. Is the outboard gutsy enough to lift a water skier out of the water and still get on the plane?

With the motor set up correctly (height, trim, prop etc) and the boat loaded correctly you should have no issues pulling up a skier. Be careful with a 12 ft boat that the tail does not start wagging the dog though.
How about a photo of the new boat.

I remember the days when a 55 hp was a large motor. Before that, we skied behind boats with 30 and 40 hp motors. One thing that might concern me is that 12 foot boat. Is it rated for a 60? I'm not familiar with that model.
