Just because he went back on a promise of no new taxes doesn't mean he was lying, just that he shouldn't have made that promise in the first place, or he should have kept it.

I don't think he said that with the intent on raising them anyway.

Not like "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monika Lewinski"
and then "I did have inappropriate relations with her". WTH is that?
