Changs that I'll remember for the year 2002.
1. The word Christmas is being dropped from the literature that is politically correct. All levels of gouvernment are doing it. At city hall in Toronto we have our annual "Holiday Tree".
2. To win an election don't appeal to the majority, appeal to the sum of all the minorities and give them what they want.
3. Plant the wheat harvest now in the frozen fields for there may not be enough rain to last the summer.
4. Soon possesing an ounce of pot won't be criminal, but a DWI has been for a while and this won't change.
5. Most medical students are women.

Re: Canadian trends

This politically correct crap has gone way too far. This isn't protecting anyones rights.Instead it's allowing a handfull of special interest groups to get their jollies off ridding other citizens of some happiness and freedom. In the spirit of Christmas I respectfully say to hell with them. What kind of group preoccupies its efforts with changing what they could just simply not acknowledge. Are they also doing away with words like Hanukkah and Ramadan in the same literal material or would that be descrimination?Don't answer that because sadly enough I already know.As for the pot, wheat,Dwi,and women student topics I will leave that to someone elses input. The first one mentioned is what irks me.

I agree with ob. It's too bad the special interest groups have so much time to spend on their little pet projects. Us non-activist tax paying mellow folks aren't heard as much (our own fault). At least I can post something here that gets read and/or discussed. Thanks.

Re: Canadian trends

No Christmas pictures were presented in our facility this past Christmas. No Santa Claus, no reindeer, no Christmas trees, no Santa's squeezing down chimney's, no moose mixed in with the reindeer ahead of the sleigh.
There was no Christmas spirit in the work-place.

I feel so discriminated against. We had these things since the beginning.....its part of the Canadian heritage.

Yes, we don't get shot at ......... But when we do, will we expect big brother to be there to help? :(

Re: Canadian trends

wow I think Im the only guy on the board who actually lives in Toronto and as great as this city is it can really be a crappy city. The christmas thing stunk and I think that there was so much opposition raised that next year it will be christmas. There was a track of land that was abandoned by the water that was occupied by homless people and home depot decided it was wrong to have people squat on thier land so they threw them off. This entire world is filled with politically corect actions and comments and I for one wish they were all thrown out. Im not advocating racism sexism feminism but I think that we should be willing to say what we want annd how we want isnt that freedom.
