1989 30hp Evinrude. Engine sat for 5 years.I have replaced all fuel lines, did a carb overhaul, replaced both ignition coils and plugs and wires. Had fire on the bottom cylinder only. Replaced the power pack. Now I have fire on both but when I power up I have got cycling like a fuel feed problem.Cuts in and out in a rapid cycle. Idles all day though.Powered up fine on one cylinder before I replaced the power pack. I readjusted the float level. Ran it and pumped the ball and tryed spraying WD40 in the carb while running. No effect from any of these. Tried putting my finger over the idle needle looking for a air leak. No effect either. I pulled the flywheel and tested the charge coil leads for ground (none) and looked over for pinched wires (none). The only thing I can see is I have some minor marking on the new power pack from the flywheel where I must of had it set out a hair too far/ flywheel not torqued right.Could the power pack be grounding to the flywheel at high rpm? and ok at idle? I did pick up a ground between the charge coil face and the block. I ordered a new charge coil and stator as these are the only parts besides the rectifyer I hav'nt replaced.Ideas??? I would really appreciate some help.
