Can't find model/serial # plate

1996 oceanpro 200. I did find a quarter sized plug between the heads near the top of the motor. It only has G3936640 on it. Does this look like a Serial #?

Yep, thats the serial number.

Unfortunately OMC doesnt exist anymore. Bombardier (BRP) can get the model from that if you call the customer service line. Are you sure its a 1996 or is that what you want to confirm?

Boat is new to me. Boat is definitely '96 I was told motor was original to boat and also '96. I have no documentation to that effect. I would like to confirm year, shaft length, etc. I did get an OEM manual from Ken Cooks and would like to do some things like replace T&T motor, Water pump, etc. and want to be certain I am getting correct parts. I've noticed Web sites in particular ask for Model # when ordering.

Good plan. If you call your local Evin/John dealer they can call for you or you can try the customer service line. I don't have it but someone may. You might try evinrude.com.

Dhadley, thanks for above info.I just called BRP and they told me my 94 is an 89.But just had it out and it ran like a bat out of hell.thanks for all your postings ,davexx<br /><br />ps;I asked about voided label info they said have dealer send it to them and they can read and issue new one. Thanks again.<br /><br />pss: the number for BRP outboard div is 847-689-7090,option 3.
