cant find numbers on my new johnson 60hp

ok, all i cant find any numbers that i would consider the serial# the only thing i can give your guys is that it says "VRO 60" on the back of the motor cover. and its a johnson. if someone could tell me where the numbers are so i can find out fuel mix and year, that would be great. thanks.

Nothing on the motor bracket ID plate?<br /><br />PS If it's a VRO, may have an oil tank for premixing already! Odds are it requires 50:1 TC-WIII 2 cycle oil if the cover is accurate and the VRO is removed/replaced with straight fuel pump. Try to find the ID plate on the motor bracket (sometimes under several layers of old paint!!)

The numbers are located on the port side of the transom bracket when looking at the engine from the stern

Look around the top of the block for a welch plug with two sets of numbers stamped in it. Should be about the size of a quarter.

how many cylinder 2 or 3<br />the 60 2 cylinder was made 1985 86 maybe 87 with vro <br />after that the 60 has 3 cylinders (with VRO) this may narrow down model year

also if exhaust has multiple parts ie. a cover a middle and block i think it a 88 or may be 89 if it only has a cover and rest is cast in its newer<br />3 cylinder models
