cant find what the warning horn mean

hey all, 1998 mercury 150 2 stroke carb. took my boat out on the water, and every now and then when i would turn the key to on, it would do a constant beep for 3 - 4 seconds, then do the normal beep beep beep to indicate a proper working system. what does this mean??

It means you're a little clumsy on the key switch. The oil-alert doesn't like a quick off and on.

I guess it could also mean the switch is about to go south on you.
