Can't Find year or Model of Johnson 25...Help!

I recently picked up an old Johnson 25 HP. The previous owner tells me it's a 60's era motor, but he repainted the entire exterior, covering all cowling markings/decals in the process. Can anybody tell me where to look for the serial number, and where I can go to find out the year and model once I've located it? Thanks.

The model and serial numbers should be in two places. On a metal plate riveted to the side of the port (left) stern mounting bracket, and on a round disc on the side of the powerhead. However, on many Johnsons only the serial # is shown on the disc. You need the model # to ID the year and buy parts.
