Re: 1989 Mariner 75hp 3cyl
I had to lower my Idle RPM as I was grinding a bit with shifting as the neutral idle RPM was around 1200 and forward idle RPM was around 1000. I have got the idle RPM in neutral down to 950 and in Forward around 750-800. I can't seem to get it any lower w/o a lot of backfiring/ stalling, even w/ low speed mixture adjustment. Does this imply the reeds could be going bad or any other suggestions? I know spec is 650-700 for idle in forward but can't seem to get it down that low w/o starting problems. No more grinding currently but its idling kind of rough even at 950.
