I just purchased a 1994 Spectrum 17 dominator. It came with an 1994 force powered by mercury 70hp. The boat has been setting up for about 4 years. So I knew I had some problems but I was willing to try them. I ordered a alot of tune up parts. Well I have to say. I ordered most of my parts off of iboats and they have been great. According to UPS I should receive my parts tomorrow. So today I drained all the gas out of the tank. I put fresh gas in an a new gas filter. So I decide to try and start the motor. I primed it up and hooked my water hose (hose line for us cajuns). Well it fired up in no time. I was suprised it started up so well. But it wasn't peeing. So I tried to prime the waterpump up by spraying water into my pee hole. It still want pee. So I tried to take my lower unit off to look at my water pump impeller. I took off the four lower unit screws and it want come off. How do I go about taking it off? And also my carb leaked gas out of this little hole on the left side of the carb.(left side = looking at sraight in front of the engine.)
So I guess it must be some kind of float stuck. But my trim motor is broke. It should be in tomorrow. So my engine is jacked up high in the air facing down. It might play apart in the leak. I don't know.....

Thanks and sorry so long. I'm just a poor ole cajun boy tring to fix things myself before spending money.

Re: Can't get lower unit off?

I have it in both the Mercury and Force fourm. I actually think the lower unit is a Mercury and the engine heads elect. are Force.

But I have them in both just to get some replys.

Thanks,

Tucker
