My boat got hot so im checking the thermostat and it seems to be pressed in the housing? any one got any tips. its a 1990 4.3 omc. PS the impeller is good
Mine was held in by an o-ring. Pry the o-ring out with a pocket knife (that's how I did mine) and the thermostat should come out with just a little coaxing.
Check the downloadable manual for you application; you may have the sleeve that installs on top of the t-stat. If so, they're inexpensive enough to not worry about saving.
