It's a 2005 Bayliner with a 3.0 Merc. While I was winterizing it, I removed the thermostat housing and there was the stat just sitting there. I decided to try and remove it but the damn thing is stuck solid in it's plastic housing. I tried a plier, screwdriver etc. It has a bit of a rusty color to it as if it had 'nt ever been changed since it new. I'm the 2nd owner and a newbie at this stuff. Any tricks to get this out? thanks Joe

Hook it with something and yank it out. Straight up.

it'll come... it will just take some beating on.
you can always try torching it, then pouring cold water on it.

That's a good idea! But trying to find a part # for this sleeve thing and how much it'll cost to repace it.....I live in an area of New York where the dealers really rip you off.

Joe from Brooklyn, I'm guessing, don't "dis" our home town dealers!!:)

All kinding aside, you can always order the part on line if you are not in a rush. I have seen some things cheaper and others, at least close enough to not be worth ordering online. Get the online price and compare!
