Re: Cant read numbers on carb

Well what does the carb go on to? What engine, year, model, HP and such would help a lot. Also maybe even a picture of your carb/engine. Repost with some additional data...

Is it a Rochester or Mercarb? (One idle mixture screw or two?) What numbers do you already have?

Should be an engine serial number tag just above and aft of the starter on the flywheel cover flange of the engine.

2202 = made in February 1992
Carburettor part number will be 1389-9562. (Verify that you have a 1.45mm main jet)

Gasket kit part number is 3302-810929004.

Re: Cant read numbers on carb

That's the reference number you use when referring to the service manual. If you want to order a new carb, the part number would be 3310-806077A2. The number you quoted (9562A2) is also needed to order some parts as they vary by carb....

Check this parts listing and have a look at the comment for item #8

http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...sc=Carburetor(Mercarb)+0D447415+Thru+0D836075

Chris.......
BTW... That carb number says your engine is a 3.0L (as opposed to 3.0LX) and the serial number is between 0D447415 and 0D836075... :D

sweet thanx again but um I guess im gonna have to figure out a way to find parts or custom make them if things are not avaible anymore. the carb seems expensive too. ive seen they vary from $265-$800. What sucks if I try to rebuild it and parts are not avaible ill have a incomplete rebuild>?

Have a look at all the parts in the listing I put the link up for... Only 3 are NLA (and they are not normal service items anyway).... All the rest are still available. Expensive? Yes, but nobody said maintaining a boat wasn't. You're saving the most expensive component by doing the work yourself, the labour. If you find a cheap replacement carb, please, just make sure it's a proper MARINE carb...

Re: Cant read numbers on carb

ok so im gonna buy a rebuild kit but it seems the float does not come with it, ive read those usually need to be replaced. Anything i should replace while i have it apart? never really work with carbs before so this is a learning experience for me
