cant remove prop

I cant get a wrench on the nut on a 47lb thrust minnkota to remove the prop.
Have to hold nut to turn screw correct?

You should be able to put a socket on the nut and hold the prop while removing it. If you have stripped the shear pin you will have to use a socket, vice grips and a screw driver.
