Hi. After taking my boat out of the water, I noticed that the bearing carrier was broken. The two tabs that the bolts go through were broken loose and the bearing carrier was loose. Before I noticed the broken carrier, everything had been working fine. I replaced the bearing carrier and as far as I know I put everything back in place just as it came out. Now the motor won't shift out of forward. After some reading about what may have happened, I thought that the shifting rod have been in "no mans land" so I dropped the lower unit. The shifting rod turns freely like it isn't catching on anything. I'm sure I've done something stupid and obvious, but can't figure out what it is. Does anyone have any ideas on what I may have done wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.
