I have 1998 225 ocean runners the port one has had an intermittent issue with tilting the motor up via the local switch (and the remote at helm). The motor will tilt down all day but to tilt up I would have to repeatedly press the switch. Eventually it would go up. I had replaced the solenoid before and I just did it again this season. That worked for about 2 months then it started happening again. I always thought the motor was going bad or I had a corroded connection somewhere. After really troubleshooting it today I finally isolated it to the tilt limit switch. It was stuck in. I played with it for a bit and it would pop out but eventually it stayed stuck in. I guess I got lucky when I replaced the solenoids the switch must have been in some kind of half closed half open state. Well for now I have bypassed it by connecting the wires together until I can get a replacement part.
