Carb adjustment

I'm going to read my SELOC manual again tonite but maybe you guys could save me some searching.

My 1996 Johnson 112 SPL runs great at idle and on plane, right up to WOT. However, when I am slowly pulling away from the dock, it feels and sounds like it is dropping a couple of cylinders. Clears up when I give it more gas.

It has new proper plugs, plug wires and one new coil replaced that was cracked. The marina stated they rebuilt the carbs and cleaned the gas tank about a year ago.

My question is this. Do I have to remove the 2 piece air silencer assembly to adjust the low speed jet? I understand there are 3 needles, idle, low speed and high speed. Which is low speed?

If you can help, thanks. This is a great forum for guys like me.

Re: Carb adjustment

your motor has fixed jets, nothing to adjust. they need to be cleaned. you probably have a low or mid jet partially clogged.

OK, I'm looking at the diagram at the website you sent. Which is the part that I need to check to see if it is clogged or dirty?
