So where do you guys purchase your carb and fuel pump kits? I'm working on a 1975 15hp Johnson, model #15R75C. Thanks to the forum I was able to determine that my pump was going out. If I pump the primer bulb it runs great but if I stop pumping she dies.

Re: Carb and Fuel pump kits

There was a post similar to this one yesterday. Are you sure there is no blockage in the fuel line? In addition, I mentioned yesterday that when I was younger and had a 9.9, I always forgot to open the "vent" on the fuel tank cap and because no fuel could flow thru the line, the motor died because it wasn't getting any fuel. After I opened the vent, the fuel could flow again and the motor ran fine.

Before you buy the fuel pump and carb kits, perhaps you might want to disconnect your fuel line from the motor and see if you can blow thru it freely. If it blows thru freely, you might want to check your "pickup" in the fuel tank to make sure it isn't blocked.

And you can buy the fuel pump diaphram/rebuild kit as well as the carb rebuild kits on this site.
