I just cleaned and attempted to rebuild the 2 carbs on my 89 force 125 outboard and I am having trouble finding any info on installing the new by pass tubes. I have a shop manual but it doesn’t really provide much info on the by pass tubes. Does any one have experience with reinstalling these new tubes? I had an issue removing them thus the new tubes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sorry for the late response, I was able to figure it out. The bypass tube is a brass tube right inside the center of each of the carbs. I found that there is a brass plug that you knock out and the new tube gets pushed in from the bottom of the carb and a new plug installed.

Do you have a picture of how this works? Also where did u get your parts? I have the same engine & sounds like the same carbs. I messed up the tube by trying to unscrew the jet from the bottom... also does your have a jet on it? I cant actually find a jet on mine. I have worked on carburetors for weed eater, mowers, chain saw, 4 wheelers, motorcycles, and my 71 torino cobra and never seen a carb like these before. Thanks

BB you should start a new thread.
You tried to unscrew the "main nozzle"
Something that didn't need to come out.
You probably don't have a low speed "jet" in your 89/125 carb.
You do have a high speed jet on the side of the post that sticks down into the bowl.

Find the parts diagram for your motorboatsdotnet has the best parts diagrams.

They sell parts here
It helps if you have the model/serial#s

Yes Sir thanks Jerry. I just have a really long thread going already & didn't want to start a new one of the guy that posted this could help lol... yes I screwed up and unscrewed the main needle (which did not need to happen lol). I'm trying to decide if I can fix it or have to replace it. I can start a new thread with pictures
